This is the first novel by guitarist, Dave Foster, in which he explores a parallel world to ours, where technology such as television, airplanes and telephones don't exist. The first and second World Wars have never happened and as a consequence, the leaps in technological advancement that these wars brought about haven't taken place.
The method of long range transport is the hot air balloon and state controlled coal factories belch out a dark fog that covers a land ruled over by a ruthless dictator, the King of Anvil... but a small band of friends set out on a journey to seek a better life and start to make an alternative future possible for everyone.
